We can’t help but love working with a fund manager that is not only intensely loyal to the science of capital markets, but can laugh about it too. These qualities are combined in Dimensional Fund Advisors’ 2013 Review, a market/economic summary that the firm releases each January. While “a lot happened” in 2013, Dimensional reports it was ultimately “a year about nothing.” In a way, it was like the reverse of a classic Seinfeld episode, in which the more investors may have worried, the more the markets seemed to ignore and soar.
We invite you to enjoy Dimensional’s full report here – including its insightful charts. They illustrate how, despite the usual gamut of domestic and global uncertainties, rewarding annualized returns prevailed for investors who had adopted a patient, evidence-based approach to portfolio construction.
For those of you who may not have participated as fully in the market returns as you would have liked, know that it’s never too late to build a solid plan for the future. Contact us to begin the conversation.
SAGE Serendipity: If you’ve not kept up with Jerry Seinfeld’s latest creative efforts, you’re in for a treat. The new season for his online “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” has begun, including an episode with one of my favorite comedians, Louis C.K.
